After two Irish Press tours in May and June 2016, I consider that it is worth to mention that there are enough sites to walk on the footsteps of the Irish soldiers.

There is not only the Ulster Tower that marks the landscape, please follow me also to the Irish Cross at Guillemont, listen to the Story of Rifleman Crozier in my village Mailly-Maillet, discover the relics of the church of Mesnil-Martinsart and the place where Thomas Kettle wrote his famous poem to his daughter Betty. Of course the Thiepval Memorial remembers also the names of many Irish men that fought on the Somme.
